INDIA GETS FIRST 24X7 VETERINARY HOSPITAL
India has finally got it’s one of its 24x7 veterinary hospital in Tis Hazari, New Delhi. The hospital was inaugurated by the honorable Delhi Development Minister Gopal Rai. During the inauguration event the minister said that eleven hospitals like this will be opened all over the country.
This hospital is operational in three shifts that is 08:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. to 02:00 p.m. to 08:00 p.m. and 08:00 p.m. to 08:00 a.m. It has the team of 5 doctors and 4 multi-tasking staff.
The initiative taken by Delhi Government was recently announced under the “Animal Health and Welfare Policy, 2018” in which the hospitals were given key attention to issues such as birth control of Monkeys, cow shelter home and sterilization of stray dogs. An electronic chip system has been set up in the vicinity so that the owners can track their deserted pets easily.
Until now there was not a single hospital in the city which operated 24x 7 due to which the pet owners have to wait till next morning in case of serious emergency also.
For immediate assistance the Animal Husbandry Department has launched a helpline number 01123967555 which will be working round the clock. This number can also be used to book appointments or get any additional information pertaining to the facilities available in the hospital.
Currently, the hospital is offering treatment to 120 – 125 animals on a daily basis. The numbers are expected to rise in the summer. This is the first of a kind initiative in the country which is expected to bring delight to the animal lovers. Almost all the treatments including vaccination for rabies and other medicines are provided free of cost.
