  1. Laika- The Space Dog

Laika was the first ever dog to be sent in Space and the first animal to orbit the Earth. She travelled to space in the Russian Sputnik 2, the flight was meant to test the safety of the shuttle. She died in the 4th orbit due to overheating.

  2. Hachiko

Hachiko was a Japanese Akita dog remembered for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno, for whom he continued to wait for over nine years following Ueno's death. There is an incredible movie made on this loyal pupper.

  3. Rin Tin Tin

Rin Tin Tin was a German Shepherd who was rescued from a French battlefield during World War I by American soldier, Lee Duncan. Upon returning home to the U.S., Duncan trained Rin Tin Tin to star in Hollywood films. His breakout role was in the 1923 film, Where the North Begins. After the film’s success, Rin Tin Tin went on to star in 28 films.

  4. Rocket

In 1998 Rocket, an army dog helped our soldiers find terrorist in Kashmir. One of them had dropped a scarf and Rocket successfully tracked down the terrorists 2km away.

  5. Pavlov’s dogs

Ever heard of the famous Pavlovian Conditioning? Pavlov was a scientist who noticed that his dogs not only drool when fed but also when he came into the room. This was his breakthrough observation making him famous worldwide. Although his discovery came at the expense of experiments on dogs.
